12:30 PM | 03:30 PM | Emerging Contaminants This session will provide valuable information of common contaminants found in wastewater, including pharmaceuticals, personal care products, diagnostic agents, detergents, antimicrobials, industrial chemicals, solvents, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and microplastics. The identification and analysis of these contaminants in wastewater matrices will be discussed. Furthermore, strategies and technologies for the effective removal and treatment of these contaminants will be presented. Participants in this seminar can expect to gain an understanding of current methods for detecting trace organic contaminants and emerging contaminants of concern in the environment. Additionally, they will learn about best practices and recent advances in wastewater treatment for contaminant removal and creating higher quality effluent.
