Cybersecurity for Wastewater Systems

This session explores the current cybersecurity threat landscape facing water and wastewater systems and provides practical strategies for protection. Participants will learn key network fundamentals, how to safeguard critical infrastructure, and best practices for incident response and recovery. The session also includes guidance on conducting a cybersecurity self-assessment to evaluate and strengthen system resilience.

This session will introduce the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and guide you through getting your project onto the state’s Intended Use Plan (IUP). We'll also focus on financial planning tailored for small wastewater utilities, along with key application requirements and common pitfalls to avoid, ensuring you’re well-prepared for success in securing funding.

This session will focus on Alabama-specific Clean Water Act compliance issues, with a detailed look at NPDES permit compliance for operators. We’ll also cover the responsibilities of decision-makers and board members under the CWA. To wrap up, we’ll leave some time for questions and answers, allowing you to address any specific concerns or clarifications.
