Emerging Contaminants Impacting Wastewater Systems 

This class session examines emerging contaminants in wastewater, including PFAS, pharmaceuticals, microplastics, and endocrine-disrupting compounds, and their impacts on environmental and public health. Students will explore how these contaminants enter wastewater systems and why conventional treatment processes often fail to remove them.
